This program is designed to give a student the skills and knowledge that allow them to function as a working Emergency Medical Technician at a basic level and to expedite a National Registry Exam passing grade. Equipment such as stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, splinting devices and spinal boards, which is required for the course of study will be provided by the school at no extra cost to the student. The program is intended for those who want to gain employment as a firefighter, emergency care technician at a hospital as well as Ambulance driver or attendant. For those individuals preparing to obtain higher levels of medical training such as RN, PA, or MD, our courses will teach you the skills and exposure you need to gain enhancement for the competitive application process for those professions.
There is no minimum requirement level of education for students who desire to take a SoCal EMS Training Institute EMT-Basic Course in California. The prerequisites for the course are the following:
- Must be 18 years of age by the completion of the course
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must have the following immunizations current
- Hepatitis B
- MMR (measles, mumps, Rubella)
- Current TB Test
- Current influenza shot if available.
